Srinagar, Jun 18 (KNO): The newly appointed Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday said that all issues related to sanitation, roads, and drainage along the route of the upcoming Muharram procession will be resolved without delay. Speaking to reporters, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), during an inspection in Zadibal Srinagar, he said they came to Zadibal to assess sanitation requirements and other necessary arrangements. “Any concern related to urban infrastructure will be resolved on priority,” he said. Haseeb added that a preliminary meeting was already held at his office and follow-up discussions will finalize the next course of action. “We are committed to delivering a clean and well-managed city environment, especially during such events,” he said. Highlighting the future of Srinagar’s urban planning, he said urbanization is our future, and this model concept needs to be implemented properly. It is pertinent to mention, Faz Lul Haseeb, IAS, formally assumed charge as SMC Commissioner and CEO SSCL on June 16, taking over from Dr. Owais Ahmad, IAS, who has been transferred as Director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Kashmir. Moreover, in his first address after taking charge, Haseeb stressed citizen-first governance and sustainable urban development. “Srinagar’s transformation into a smart and sustainable city demands collective action and innovative solutions,” he said during his June 16 address, adding that his focus would be on service delivery, grievance redressal, and keeping public concerns at the centre of administration—(KNO)
